BIO
Hi!
My name is Kayla West and I am a striving artist, musician, writer and a teacher. I've been creating in the arts since elementary school and have learned a lot about many different art forms, but I'm always eager to learn more!
In an effort to showcase my creative endeavors I thought I would create this web page as a portfolio of what I've done and am currently doing.
I graduated from York University in 2015 with a degree in Music Education and Biology. From there, I enrolled in the Consecutive Teaching program at Queen's University, and graduated in July 2016.
I hope to one day publish my stories and create a manga-style comic book. I'd like to share my creative works with you, so please enjoy my site and explore the many links I have attached for you to view all my artistic works.

I've been writing a story with a friend. It's a blog story; a riveting tale called The Guild! Please check it out on my Wordpress!
There are chapters already up and I have made a Chapter Guide so you can find your place easily. It is a continuing story for now so you can look forward to upcoming chapters regularly!

Recently, we began writing our second draft from the beginning, adjusting details and editing out work! We've also started preparing it in a book format, dividing the current chapters into volumes.

Started working on a manga styled story for an art project, but had the idea of developing it for a couple of years now. I've outlined the story and scripted chapter 1. I've started the picture story boards, some inking, and character designs!

I have ongoing fanfiction works on fanfiction.net that mostly revolve around the Fullmetal Alchemist world. These are stories that help me to expand my writing style and keep me writing when I am experiencing writer's block on my original works.

2017
I started story blogging by developing a few characters for a friends co-op blog story, the Order of Vigilance.
The chapters have returned and the story continues. My chapters may change ass now we hope to have a crossover of world between the Guild and the Order. However, my old chapters can be viewed still on my blog here. You can continue to read they amazing adventures on my wixsite blog!

I'm an active fossil hunter! I occasional plan trips and make collections to document the fossil species in my area!

This novel started out as a short story project in Grade 10 English class. It's evolved since into a full-length novel with the potential to be a series. I've written 31 chapters, have an extensive world history and creation story, developed many original characters and species as well as have appendix stories based on some characters personal histories. Editing is complete and a first draft of book one is done!! Multiple sketches exist and a finalized world map is complete with ink!
